Why Summaries and Response Essays Are Called SummariesWhat are some of the responses to and summaries from these essays? Students often ask this question when they're reviewing essay samples. A good question to ask is, 'Why would a college professor want to summarize and respond?' Answering questions like this can help you better understand why a professor might give a particular essay sample the title or summary treatment.Writing a summary and response essay may seem like something that should be easy or even mundane. But for a college professor, it's not simple. The best answers to these questions will make you feel more comfortable with the idea and provide a much-needed sense of perspective in your writing.A summary and response essay is essentially an argument or argumentative section of a paper. When you're writing a summary and response essay, you're trying to convince a reader that your position is right and their position is wrong. It's hard work. It's not just a bunch of ja rgon-filled details. A summary and response essay are complex because it requires the writer to explain various points without really going into the nitty-gritty of the subject matter.By drawing the audience in, the writer can begin by describing his or her style. Sometimes you need to describe your audience. If you're speaking to a class, for example, then you'll need to emphasize your subject matter. But if you're speaking to a student, the tone and content should be friendly and casual.A student will often get lost in the details that an older, more experienced student would use, especially if the information was not specific enough to their individual needs. The writer needs to tailor his or her topic to the needs of the audience. Many students find it difficult to relate to essay samples that focus on a particular topic. Writing them like a news article will often bring the reader more deeply into the argument than a simple 'no one wants to read about puppies.'A professor somet imes finds it hard to guide his or her audience to a certain direction. But he or she is also a teacher. A good summary and response essay will allow the professor to guide his or her audience toward a conclusion. At the same time, the writer can describe the relationship between the topic and the writer's arguments. The important thing to remember is that your essay should lead the reader to a well-supported point of view.A summary and response might take a lot of practice and work. It will help you to clearly express what you believe in without sounding as if you're spewing your opinions or making decisions for the whole class. You may need to go back and revise parts of your essay several times before you have the flow and structure that you need to move it along. A summary and response essay can help you improve and write better.Even if you've written a lot of college essays before, a summary and response essay may be different than anything you've ever written. Even if you've n ever written any such essay before, it's worth working with sample essays to find out where you're going wrong. A sample might just be the spark that makes it all come together.

In January 1973, the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade declared it the womanââ¬â¢s decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy. This was the case that legalized abortions worldwide. Abortion is a highly controversial topic and many people have different opinions on it. Pro-lifers think itââ¬â¢s morally wrong to kill an innocent child, while pro-choicers think itââ¬â¢s the womanââ¬â¢s decision. This topic has been debated for many years now and hopefully a consensus can finally be reached. There are many pro-choice views on abortion. Primarily, itââ¬â¢s believed that itââ¬â¢s all in the power of the woman because itââ¬â¢s their body. They have the decision to keep the baby or to abort it. Rape is also a big factor to consider. It isnââ¬â¢t the womanââ¬â¢s fault if she was taken advantage of and raped. I agree that it is cruel to force a woman to carry a pregnancy that was from the result of a rape. Therefore, she should have the right to an abortion. Also, more and more teenagers are getting pregnant at young ages. Teenage pregnancy may be dangerous to the mother and the baby. Moreover, abortion procedures are safe and donââ¬â¢t cause lasting health issue. Abortions are termination of a pregnancy, not of the baby. A personââ¬â¢s age isnââ¬â¢t calculated at conception, itââ¬â¢s calculated from their birth date. Therefore, life doesnââ¬â¢t begin until after birth so it isnââ¬â¢t considered to be murder. Lastly, there are families who are financially unstable and canââ¬â¢t provide for a child. The baby wonââ¬â¢t get everything it needs and the baby could suffer. Overall, I understand that there are many reasons why abortions should be allowed. The primary concern for both pro-choicers and pro-lifers is safety. This could include a safe abortion or the overall health and safety of the mother. Also, both sides could most likely agree that abortions should be allowed if a woman is raped. It isnââ¬â¢t the motherââ¬â¢s fault if she is raped and shouldnââ¬â¢t have to keep the baby. Also, the high use of contraceptives could be agreed as a good way to avoid pregnancy. However, I believe that abortions are immoral and wrong. Abortion is murder and itââ¬â¢s killing an innocent child, even if that child has yet to be born. Life begins at conception, so therefore babies have a right to life. Also, fetuses feel pain during the abortion process. During the eighth week of the first trimester, babies are beginning to develop the spinal reflex which is the most primitive response to pain (Ertelt, 1). Women should not be able to use abortion as a way of contraception. There are so many other forms of effective contraceptives that donââ¬â¢t involve killing the baby. If a woman becomes pregnant, she should accept the responsibility that comes with producing a child. Parents should take responsibility for their actions and accept the consequences. The unborn baby shouldnââ¬â¢t be punished for their mistake. When having sexual intercourse, the chance of pregnancy is always possible. However, precautions measure should be taken to lower the risk. If a w oman isnââ¬â¢t ready for a child, the choice of adoption is always available. There are tons of people who would be more than grateful to adopt a child. Overall, there are many reasons why abortions are morally wrong. In conclusion, a consensus on abortions needs to be reached. I understand the reasons why pro-choicers think itââ¬â¢s okay, but I still think itââ¬â¢s immoral and wrong. However, I could agree and say that itââ¬â¢s acceptable only in certain cases. Babies start developing as early as a few weeks after conception. Therefore I think abortions could be okay as long as theyââ¬â¢re done before the 4th or 5th week so it doesnââ¬â¢t harm the baby. Also, they could be acceptable in extreme cases like rape. I donââ¬â¢t think itââ¬â¢s fair for a women to feel obligated to carry a pregnancy if she was raped. Most importantly, each family has different circumstances and the best decision should be made in regards to the baby.

Stay True Few novels go down in history, and even fewer are remembered as symbols of social change. Jane Austenââ¬â¢s Pride and Prejudice is a novel remembered by many, and through the decades, as such a novel. The tale of Elizabeth as she overcomes various oppressions has become a classic. Women throughout Jane Austenââ¬â¢s time period were constantly oppressed by social codes and expectations. These social codes included requirements from chaperoned dates to a limit of expression of emotion. Elizabethââ¬â¢s strength of character penetrates these obstacles prompted by a largely patriarchal society and truly exemplifies the need for feminism in the novel and in Austenââ¬â¢s time period. Elizabeth, throughout the novel, is the foil for the rest of the society portrayed in Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Bennet comments at the beginning of the novel ââ¬Å"ââ¬ËThey [the remaining four Bennet sisters] have none of them much to recommend them...they are all silly and ignorant like other girls; but Lizzy has something more of quickness than her sistersââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬ (Austen 3). From this point on, Elizabeth is the opposing force to the rest of society. While initially this opposition may at first seem more like a criticism of women, it is rather a criticism on how women are supposed to act. This use of character is also a way in which to draw out the stance Austen was wanting to take with Elizabeth, as stated by Hui-Chun Chang from the School of Humanities at Tsinghua University, ââ¬Å"Austenââ¬â¢s skillful writing utilizesShow MoreRelatedPride And Prejudice By Jane Austen Essay1724 Words à |à 7 PagesThe 18th century novel, Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, is a fascinating book about a young womanââ¬â¢s struggle with family and love.
